教授、博士生導師,，主要從事水生態(tài)修復,、環(huán)境微生物,，污染物遷移轉(zhuǎn)化規(guī)律,、水環(huán)境模型,、生態(tài)水力學,、環(huán)境影響評價等方面的研究和教學工作,。主持國家自然科學基金2項,，負責973課題的子課題1項、國自然重點基金專題1項,，國自然聯(lián)合基金專題1項,，參與國家重大科技專項課題2項、江蘇省自然科學基金1項,、江蘇省社會發(fā)展科技計劃項目1項,，江蘇省水利廳課題?“南水北調(diào)尾水導流工程生態(tài)濕地凈化尾水效果及不同季節(jié)最大水環(huán)境承載能力研究”，國調(diào)辦項目“駱馬湖菹草影響水質(zhì)對策研究”,，并負責多個環(huán)境影響評價項目,；發(fā)表學術(shù)論文70余篇，其中包括在JHM,、WR,、EP、STOTEN,、JEM,、JHR等學術(shù)期刊上發(fā)表SCI檢索論文30余篇；合作出版專著2部,，授權(quán)發(fā)明專利31項,，授權(quán)軟件著作權(quán)6項。 獲得國家科技進步二等獎1項（排名第五）,、教育部科技進步獎一等獎1項（排名第五）,、教育部科技進步獎二等獎1項（排名第二）。
