Wu Yongxiang, Ph.D, Professor, Deputy Director of Hydrology and Water Resources Department, Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute. Mainly engaged in research on hydroinformatics, water resources management and flood control and disaster mitigation. Participated in the design and implementation of the national major water resources informatization project “National Flood Control and Drought Relief Command System Project” and “National Water Resources Monitoring Capacity Building Project”. PI of subjects under the National Eighth/Tenth/Eleventh Fiver-Year-Period Key Scientific and Technological Projects. Current PI of subjects under National Key Research and Development Program of China, Integration project of major research programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Water Resources Conservation Management and Protection Programs financed by the Ministry of Water Resources. Research awards include the National Second Prize for scientific and technological advancement(1997,2009), the Special Award of Dayu Prize for scientific and technological advancement in water conservancy(2011), and three first awards at provincial/ministerial level.
